Episode Context

As episode one of only three in this short OVA series, 'Super Mario Momotarou' establishes the entire creative premise: classic Japanese fairy tales retold through the Super Mario cast. There's no prior episode to build from, this is the proof of concept. It directly sets up the format for the following episode, 'Super Mario Issun-boushi,' which continues the fairy tale adaptation approach with a different traditional story.
