This was a nice opener showcasing a war torn world while also introducing our two leads. The daily life vibe here feels slow though, I feel like this is mostly a dramatic anime with war as its background. When I watched this episode it really felt like a simple slice of life stuff for most of its runtime, it doesn't really get to show off until the final stretch.
