Coming directly off the unsettling escalation of Episode 2, this episode functions as a deliberate exhale, a character-focused interlude that deepens the emotional stakes before the finale. It sharpens the psychological groundwork laid in the first half of the series, particularly around Yuri's trauma and the girls' interpersonal dynamics. With only one episode remaining, 'Summer Vacation, Borg and Death' quietly positions every unresolved thread for the culminating impact of 'The End of the Beginning.'
