Dude, I thought this was a generic "boy saves the world" show? That ending slapped me across the face. Seeing those "innocent" nobles turn out to be literal demons was insane. If you have a weak stomach, turn back now, because the Capital is a straight-up horror movie.

Wow I thought this will be a fantasy adventure anime but boy I was surprised. The pacing was fast, from a generic adventure into a dark reality. The animation here is gory and grim, it establishes well the high stakes and does not hold back on mature scenes.

The first episode of this anime starts abruptly like an Isekai. The watchers are suddenly plunged into the plot. The animation feels healthy, and the pace is also good. I personally like the tone-shifting take of the narrative here. Tatsumi’s journey will surely be very enjoyable

The first ten-minute of the show gives you the classic "protagonist begins his adventure" feel, a lighthearted and almost purposedly cliché start. The second-half part of this episode however? Oh Boy, get ready for some gruesome and frankly horrible stuff.

Tatsumi arrives in the capital hoping to make money for his village, but the city quickly shows a darker side. A shocking encounter throws him into a dangerous new world. The premiere sets the tone that is brutal, intense, and impossible to ignore.

starts fun and lighthearted then flips the switch like that. the world's corruption hits fast. sets the tone for everything this show is about. do not judge it by the first 10 minutes

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the series premiere of a 24-episode run, 'Kill the Darkness' exists entirely to establish the world, introduce Tatsumi as the audience's entry point, and reveal the existence of Night Raid — the assassin group central to the entire series. There's no prior setup; everything starts here. The episode directly feeds into 'Kill the Authority,' where Tatsumi begins to reckon with the reality of what joining Night Raid actually means and the Empire's true nature comes further into focus.
