The opening episode was superb. It doesn’t revolutionise the slice of life genre, but it delivers the formula with true warmth, realism, and a touch of clever flair that makes it shine. It also fosters interaction – brilliant for creating group dynamics.
A very heartwarming start to the series. I absolutely loved the pacing of this episode, and the characterization of the characters brings a sense of nostalgia within me. I also liked the fact that the main character was able to get out of her comfort zone and tried something she wasn't able to yet. Very relatable and touching.
Although the characters seem to have a very stereotypical type to them, the premise of the board games is actually super intriguing! And how they portray Kyoto, especially with their style of animation, is so beautiful! A very solid start indeed
