Episode Context

Coming off Afro's brutal gauntlet through the Empty Seven Clan in Episode 3, 'Duel' functions as the emotional and narrative climax before the series finale. The confrontation with Kuma recontextualizes the personal stakes of Afro's journey in ways the earlier action-driven episodes only hinted at. Everything that follows in Episode 5, the ultimate showdown with Justice, hinges on what Afro is forced to reckon with here.
