EPISODE REVIEWS

The pacing of the episode is really solid: calm scouting to Ichidai dominance to sudden disruption to full-on hype shift. It keeps escalating without feeling messy.

Raichi is instantly one of those characters you can’t ignore. His swing is basically anime physics doesn’t apply here, and it completely changes the mood of the stadium. 😤

Episode Context

With Seidou already secured in the quarterfinals, episode 31 shifts focus to the broader tournament landscape, giving viewers critical context on who might stand in their way. The introduction of Yakushi's Todoroki Raichi as a legitimate threat and the spotlight on Ichidai's Manaka establish key rivalries and matchup dynamics that will pay off in later rounds. This mid-season pivot from self-improvement to opponent awareness marks a turning point in how Seidou, and the audience, must think about the road ahead.
