EPISODE REVIEWS

The plot sets up a meticulous, slow-burn political landscape, introducing Jean Otus as he uncovers a minor accounting fraud that hints at a larger, national coup d'état. Character designs by Natsume Ono are incredibly distinct, leaning into lanky silhouettes, heavy-lidded eyes, and sharp, fashionable European-style uniforms. The visuals are clean and retro, capturing a mid-century aesthetic with a warm, comforting color palette. Specific Moment: The way Jean systematically clips and lights his rare, highly taxed cigarette, instantly establishing the luxury and political weight of tobacco in this world.

Medyo mabagal ang simula ng episode, pero may solid na world-building agad. Hindi ito yung typical na action-packed, o hype anime.

During the first half of the episode, it felt like finding my way through a pitch black tunnel. I would appreciate it if there was an explanation on how things ended up as it is. Though I love how Jean was introduced as critical-thinker/problem solver character. Also the art style that compliments how subtle the story goes.
