A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Mikoto Misaka can generate billions of volts of electricity, and she's only the third strongest psychic in a city full of superpowered students. Academy City is basically what you'd get if someone built an entire metropolis around experimenting on teenagers with esper abilities — advanced tech everywhere, shadowy organizations pulling strings behind the scenes, and Mikoto right in the middle of it all. This fourth season of Railgun continues her story alongside Kuroko, Uiharu, and Saten as they stumble into whatever new mess Academy City has cooked up this time. The show has always been good at balancing slice-of-life moments between friends with genuinely intense action arcs that go to some surprisingly dark places. J.C.Staff handles the animation, and the fight choreography in Railgun has consistently been a step above — Mikoto's electromagnetic powers make for some really creative combat sequences, backed by a soundtrack that just fits. If you liked A Certain Magical Index but wanted tighter storytelling with a stronger lead, Railgun has always been that. And if you're into shows like Psycho-Pass where a sci-fi setting is more than just window dressing and actually shapes the conflict, this scratches a similar itch. You don't strictly need previous seasons to follow along, but honestly, the buildup from earlier arcs makes everything hit harder. Worth catching up for.
