Touma Kamijo receives a phone call, learning of remedial classes. His misfortune begins early, a running gag well-established. As he opens his curtains, a miniature Index dangles from his balcony railing, weak with hunger. Their first encounter in this version is pure slapstick, a comical reversal of their usual dynamic. Index's weak plea for food is met with Touma's befuddlement, ending with her predictable fall.

Index now perches atop Touma's head, cheerfully eating a hot dog as they walk. She breaks the fourth wall, explaining that the similar setting is due to shared production companies. This self-referential humor defines the episode. She then launches into a repetitive "Baka! Baka!" chant, a childlike taunt that showcases her chibi personality. Touma simply walks away, a silent acknowledgment of her inescapable antics.

Himegami Aisa stands alone in a city street, cradling a cat. Her expression is as blank as always, a melancholy presence in a comedic interlude. The wind moves her hair, and she looks skyward. She asks, "Why?" This single word encapsulates her character's perpetual bewilderment and serves as a brief, surreal pause.

Index-tan becomes the teacher, instructing Komoe-sensei in a bizarre visualization exercise. Komoe, adorned in bunny ears, earnestly tries to manifest a golden angel. Magical sparkles fill the room, a visual shorthand for effort. Her success is limited, two blob-like chibi angels appear, then merge into a single purple one. Index declares the "fixation of form" disappointing, a harsh verdict on an earnest attempt.

A segment titled "Teach Us, Kanzaki-senpai!" begins with Stiyl Magnus's off-screen voice asking pointed questions. He probes Kanzaki Kaori's age, instantly enraging her and turning her face menacing. He then asks about her outfit, further chipping away at her composure. The final straw is a rumor about a voice actress at a wrap party, Kanzaki snaps, slashing the screen with her sword.

Touma awakens, bandaged and injured, to find Index sleeping nearby. A mischievous glint appears in his eye, a rare moment of dark humor. He attempts to touch her, whispering about a change in his luck, implying inappropriate intentions. Before he can act, a crashing sound interrupts him. The scene cuts to black, punctuated by his scream of misfortune.

Touma stands in a blue aura, delivering a passionate speech about saving Index. He declares his desire to be the protagonist, to ensure a happy ending for all. Epic music swells, building the moment. The camera pulls back, revealing Stiyl and Kanzaki watching him with expressions of pity and confusion. Their silent judgment dismantles his grand pronouncement.

Tsuchimikado Motoharu and Aogami Pierce host a frantic home shopping show. They introduce a cleaning robot, boasting its security features against common series tropes. To reveal the price, a deeply embarrassed Kanzaki Kaori is brought out. She whispers "7,000 yen" in a soft voice, which excites the hosts. They badger her to say it again, louder and more seductively, until she finally destroys the set in a fit of rage.

Komoe-sensei enjoys a drunken yakiniku dinner with Himegami. Komoe gleefully grills meat and vegetables, too intoxicated to notice Himegami's subtle pleas. Every time meat is ready, Komoe pushes vegetables onto Himegami's plate. Himegami repeatedly asks for meat, her deadpan request met with Komoe's cheerful, vegetable-laden offerings.

In the final scene, Touma and Index walk through a park at night. Index asks about "Nasi Goreng," her curiosity childlike. Touma regards her with affection, tired but accepting of her insatiable appetite. Hidden behind a tree, Stiyl Magnus observes them, blushing as he comments on Index's happiness. The episode concludes on a note of quiet sweetness, a gentle counterpoint to the preceding chaos.
