One of the annoying thing when a story takes a previous villain on a redemption route is the fact the story uses a bigger villain or a bigger stake in order to somehow absolve their previous wrongs without having them acknowledged their previous actions, instead simply waving them off since they became allies with the heroes. It is the major flaw that takes away the enjoyment.
