Sitting at roughly the one-third mark of this 13-episode run, Branch 04 follows the investigative momentum of Branch 03's petrification case developments and deliberately redirects energy toward the personal stakes between Kakeru and Miyako. This episode functions as an emotional pivot, grounding the supernatural escalation in relationship tension that will likely fuel the conflicts ahead. It sets the table for the mid-season stretch where the intertwined threads of romance and mystery in Shiromitsugawa should start converging with greater urgency.
