Episode Context

As the first of thirteen episodes, Branch 01 serves purely as foundation, introducing Shiromitsugawa, its core cast, and the first whispers of the central mystery that will drive the season. Nothing precedes it, but the deliberate groundwork laid here for both Kakeru and Miyako's relationship and the supernatural elements suggests a series that will escalate steadily. Early episodes in this structure typically prioritize world-building before the mystery deepens around the midseason mark.
