This episode was pretty decent with the highlights focused mainly on Aoi and Hiyama. Their backstory was quite emotional, as Aoi was struggling with some personal matter. The tone was somehow reassuring, as Hiyama was there to support Aoi back in the past. The pacing was slowed down, though. The animation where Aoi was weeping tears was perfectly executed though.
