This episode was really cute. The conflict was juvenile, but that makes perfect sense for a show with this premise. It was handled well, the characters were likeable and easy to root for, and it was well paced. Nothing groundbreaking, but a significant improvement.
The tone for this episode was upsetting as the spotlight shifted to Hanabi and Takao. With the introduction of a new character, the plot and pacing got really messed up once again. The mood was uncomfortable, as Hanabi was secretive and kept on dragging what she had to say. Cocoa and Tsutsumi's first appearance of this season was quite refreshing to see. The reality check of Hanabi's brother was on the dot, though.
