They try to do a spooky ghost mystery village vibe, but the awful art direction completely ruins any atmosphere. The monster and background designs look so lazy it's hilarious. There is absolutely zero tension or comedy to save this episode.
I kinda like this episode mainly for Lise and her uncle's backstory. Similar to other parts of the anime, the writer seems to have a problem with scene arrangement. I feel like the scenes are all over the place. Not even sure if this underwent the editing process at this point.
The festival setting gives this episode a welcome change of pace and a slightly eerie atmosphere that the series honestly needed. Watching the group investigate another strange situation was more engaging than the usual power fantasy routine. It still has the show's rough edges, but the mystery vibe carried a lot of the episode for me.
