Gon’s friends finally reaches Killua’s house. Lots of obstacles before they can see him, which makes Gon furious enough to act on his own. His recklessness ends up winning over the guard though. Overall, it was enjoyable to watch as it still related to the next episode.

The Zoldyck estate is a nightmare, and I love it. The gate opening scene is a perfect show of strength. It’s a solid atmospheric episode that sets the stage for the family drama. Don’t skip it—the world-building here is top-tier.

Its getting intense on this episode seeing the trio try to pass that brutal testing gate just to see Killua its like friendship never die hahaha. it’s all about strategy and patience, not just strength.

Episode Context

Hunter x Hunter shifts gears into suspense-driven territory as Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio arrive at the doorstep of one of the most dangerous families in the world. The episode trades the competitive energy of the Hunter Exam for something more atmospheric, towering stone gates, an estate designed to kill intruders, and an ever-present sense that these three are completely out of their depth. The watchdog Mike serves as a visceral reminder of the power gap between the trio and the world they're walking into. What holds it together is the character work: the group's stubborn loyalty to Killua drives every decision, and their dynamic keeps the tension grounded in genuine emotional stakes. Expect world-building that recontextualizes everything we know about Killua's background, wrapped in a deliberately slow-burn pace that rewards patience.
