Episode Context

A deliberate, atmospheric opener that wastes no time reminding you why Ai Enma is one of anime's most unsettling figures. Season two arrives with the same slow-burn dread the franchise is known for, shadows linger a beat too long, grievances feel unbearably human, and the pull of that red thread carries genuine moral weight. Expect restrained horror over jump scares, with the episode spending time reestablishing Ai and her companions while layering in fresh faces. The tone is contemplative and cold, balancing supernatural menace with quiet sadness. It asks the same thorny question the first season posed: when someone reaches for revenge, who is truly condemned?
