AnimeOshi News- One Piece Elbaph Arc: The "Strongest" Voice Actor Joined as Loki!
At AnimeJapan 2026, held on March 28 and 29, a lot of new information about various anime was revealed, including the One Piece Elbaph Arc. As the premiere of the Elbaph Arc is almost here, a new trailer has been released, along with the reveal of the voice actor for the pivotal character, Loki.
Anime-only watchers might not know who he is yet, but manga readers know exactly how important Loki is. Learning who his voice actor is has really hyped up fans worldwide.
Since Loki's voice actor has been officially announced, I want to use this post to share with everyone who it is! Before diving deep into the details, please understand that while I don't want to share too many spoilers, Loki is such an important character with a huge impact on the Elbaph Arc that I will still be including some minimum information about him.

Who is Loki in the One Piece Elbaph Arc:
Before revealing the voice actor, let me share some basic information about Loki, as he is one of the most important characters in the Elbaph Arc. While anime-only watchers might be wondering who he is, they actually already know him! For those who have forgotten, Loki was the prince who proposed to Charlotte Lola—an event that ultimately became the reason why Charlotte Linlin holds so much hatred for her own daughter.
During the Whole Cake Island Arc, we had no idea how much of an effect Loki would eventually have on Luffy’s journey, but it turns out there was a very good reason why Linlin wanted that alliance so much. If Loki had actually joined Linlin’s side, the entire course of Luffy’s journey would have changed significantly. From what was revealed in the past, we already knew that Loki is a giant, the Prince of Elbaph, and was deeply interested in Lola.
Coming back to the present, Loki is portrayed as a "strongest-class" character. In the world of One Piece, there are many characters labeled as the "strongest" for various reasons, but Loki also stands out as someone with a complex and difficult backstory. Fittingly, he shares the same voice actor as some of the most iconic "strongest" characters in other major anime: the legendary Yuichi Nakamura.
These days, "strongest" characters are frequently voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, as his voice fits them perfectly. To share a few examples: he voiced the legendary Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen and the formidable Tsukasa Shishio from Dr. Stone. Nakamura has a talent for portraying these powerhouse characters flawlessly. Even before this reveal, I always felt that since Loki has such an intimidating presence, Nakamura would be the best fit—I honestly couldn't imagine anyone else in the role. It turns out fans worldwide have "won the game" with this casting! We can all trust that Nakamura will definitely bring this character to life perfectly once again.

Now that we know Yuichi Nakamura will officially voice Loki in the One Piece anime, let’s take a look at some of the other characters he has voiced perfectly. Nakamura has played so many roles that it’s impossible to list them all in one post, but since our theme today is "the strongest," let's highlight some of his most powerful characters and how his voice brought them to life.
The first "strongest" character is, of course, the world-famous Satoru Gojo. Nakamura voiced him perfectly—not just because his voice sounds great, but because he allows us to understand Gojo’s personality even if we haven't read the manga. Gojo isn't just powerful; he is also arrogant and rarely takes things seriously. We can easily catch glimpses of these traits through Nakamura’s performance, as he perfectly balances Gojo’s overwhelming power with his signature carefreeness just through his acting.
The second "strongest" character is Tsukasa Shishio from Dr. Stone. Since Tsukasa might not be as globally famous as Gojo, many people may not know him, but he is undeniably the strongest in his own series. Just like with Gojo, Nakamura voiced Tsukasa perfectly, but in a completely different way. Because Tsukasa is a very calm character with the power and ambition to change the world, Nakamura used his acting to give Tsukasa the commanding presence of a king. He is the strongest, fears nothing, and always stands his ground; through Nakamura’s performance, we can truly feel Tsukasa’s absolute authority.
The third and final "strongest" character is Bruno Bucciarati from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. In terms of pure physical power or Stand ability, Bucciarati might not be the "strongest," but in terms of spirit, leadership, and his capacity for love and care, he is definitely a powerhouse, sometimes even more so than Giorno Giovanna. Through this epic character, Nakamura once again displayed his incredible range. Unlike his previous roles, Bucciarati is a character who, despite being a gangster, possesses a great personality and a deep hatred for pure evil. In Golden Wind, rather than just giving Bucciarati raw power, Nakamura voiced him as a trustworthy and great leader—someone who will stand against evil even when the whole world becomes his enemy.
Other voice actors and their roles in the Elbaph Arc:
Besides the Prince of Elbaph, the voice actors for two other giants have also been revealed. These giants, Gerd and Road, will play significant roles in the upcoming Elbaph Arc. For anime-only watchers, you might be wondering who they are; although they haven't had major roles in the One Piece anime yet, they are closely connected to someone very important to Luffy.
Gerd will be voiced by Ayane Sakura, while Road will be voiced by Ryota Takeuchi. Both characters are members of the New Giant Warrior Pirates, led by Hajrudin, who is a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet! Beyond their connection to Hajrudin, Gerd was actually one of Big Mom's best friends during their childhood. I’ve always found it quite ironic: while Linlin grew into a fierce, monstrous woman, her childhood friend Gerd grew into a beautiful warrior who has now even teamed up with Luffy's alliance.
Just as I did with Yuichi Nakamura, let me share some iconic characters voiced by Ayane Sakura and Ryota Takeuchi. One of Ayane Sakura’s most famous recent roles is Aira Shiratori from Dandadan. Sakura did a perfect job with her; through her voice acting, you can really feel both the cuteness and the selfishness of Aira, especially in how she always prioritizes herself and Ken Takakura over everyone else. Another great role is Nero from Black Clover. Unlike Aira, who is very high-energy, Nero doesn't speak much at all. Even though she is quiet, Sakura’s performance perfectly captures her sense of speechlessness when dealing with Asta’s antics. Yet, when Nero finally builds bonds with the other characters, the performance feels truly heartwarming.
One of Ryota Takeuchi’s most significant roles is Darui from Naruto. For those who might have forgotten, Darui was the right-hand man of the Fourth Raikage and eventually became the Fifth Raikage himself. Darui is an incredibly strong character, but Takeuchi also brings out his laid-back and humorous side through his performance. Another notable role is Jasper from Dr. Stone. Although Jasper doesn't have many appearances, Takeuchi’s acting gives us a clear sense of his character—allowing us to see how seriously he takes his responsibility for protecting the village.

Since I want to avoid spoiling anything for the anime-only watchers, it is time for me to end this post. The One Piece Elbaph Arc is scheduled to premiere in Japan on April 5, 2026, for fans worldwide, the wait is finally over! With such an incredible lineup of voice actors, we have so much to look forward to, and I can't wait to discuss it more once it officially drops. While the story will certainly become much more complex as we enter the Elbaph Arc, rest assured that AnimeOshi will cover every piece of information you need to fully understand the world of One Piece!
