Just like other classic, long-running series such as Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon has a lot of anime to explore.

As a Digimon fan who has watched every single episode of Beatbreak, I can confidently tell you that it's an amazing anime! While it might not recreate every miracle of the classic series, it has thoroughly impressed the fanbase and stands as the ultimate entry point into the franchise. It's a bold statement, but Beatbreak delivers a great story and character development capable of standing side-by-side with legendary Digimon titles.

If you aren't a Digimon fan or don't know much about the franchise, you might wonder if Beatbreak is the right place to start just because it's the newest show. In fact, it actually gave me nightmares when I was a kid!

Much like Beatbreak and Adventure (1999), Digimon Tamers features incredible story plotting and rich characters that will completely amaze you. Where Tamers truly sets itself apart, however, is its emotional depth and tone, it introduces heartbreaking separations alongside genuinely terrifying, uncanny alien-like enemies.

Most people view Digimon simply as creature companions similar to Pokémon. Even for those of us who grew up with Digimon Adventure (1999) and 02, we never imagined the franchise could go in such a dark direction and introduced alien-like enemies. Digimon Tamers completely broke the mold, showing us that this universe has endless possibilities.

Since Digimon Tamers is fairly short at just 51 episodes, fewer than both Beatbreak and Adventure (1999), I'll keep this spoiler-free. Once you hit the final arc, the show delivers incredible, high-stakes moments that will satisfy anyone who loves darker, more psychological anime. The first part of Digimon Tamers follows the familiar formula of introducing the humans and their Digimon, having fun, and fighting a few battles, but the story changes dramatically once they enter the Digital World.
