Zton Jingai Animation: A Beautiful Greed Nulu Nulu
Oshimeter
Synopsis
This single-episode OVA from Studio 9 Maiami, adapted from Z-ton's doujin manga, is made up of four short stories — each one centered on humans getting tangled up with semi-human fantasy creatures. The anthology jumps between tones and scenarios: one segment follows Fumi and Lea, a human and a centaur, navigating the early stages of a relationship while working together at a tavern. Another sends a guy named Otoko into a foggy, mysterious sea hunting for elusive aquatic creatures he's become a bit obsessed with. The final segment takes a documentary-style approach to introduce Kuku, a semi-human from the Orcas family, and her dynamic with a human named Haru. The variety keeps things from feeling repetitive — each story has its own mood, ranging from something closer to romance to outright fantasy exploration. Z-ton's character designs lean heavily into the creature-feature aesthetic, so if you're drawn to the interspecies relationship angle from something like Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou or the freewheeling fantasy world-building of Ishuzoku Reviewers, there's overlap here in spirit. It's explicit content, so that's worth knowing upfront — this isn't a gateway anime. At one episode, it's a short commitment, and the anthology format means you get a few different flavors rather than one extended story. Niche, but fans of Z-ton's art style will find it delivers exactly what it promises.
