📖 SYNOPSIS

"Zouressha ga Yatte Kita" is an educational film set in post-World War II Japan. The narrative focuses on the aftermath of wartime, where zoos were forced to slaughter dangerous animals, including elephants, as a precaution against potential Allied bombings. The film highlights the scarcity of these majestic creatures, with only two elephants surviving at the Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya. To allow children from all over the country to experience the wonder of these remaining elephants, special trains, known as "Elephant Trains," were organized. The film likely follows the journeys of these children as they travel to the zoo, emphasizing the importance of preserving life and the joy of witnessing these rare animals. The film's core theme revolves around the resilience of hope and the enduring power of connection in a time of hardship.
