Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Takemura is a shut-in who lost his job and spent a week straight playing video games. The one day he drags himself outside, some guy bites him. He crawls back to his apartment, passes out with a fever, and wakes up to a world completely overrun by zombies. Here's the twist though — they don't attack him. Every zombie just walks right past like he's not even there. For a guy who already hated being around people, this is almost an upgrade. Almost. The catch is that this is a seinen with horror and erotica tags, so the situations Takemura stumbles into with the survivors he encounters get dark and provocative fast. This isn't the lighthearted zombie romp you'd get from something like Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. The tone leans closer to Sankarea: Undying Love in how it mixes genuine unease with intimacy, but set against a full-scale apocalypse instead of a single obsession. Takemura's immunity is the hook, but the real draw is watching a deeply antisocial person navigate human connections when civilization collapses and the usual social rules stop applying. If you liked the premise of Zom 100 but wanted something moodier and more mature, this TV series adaptation of the light novel is worth keeping on your radar for 2026. Just know going in — it earns that seinen demographic.
