The Gods' Fool
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When sixteen gods crash-land into the human world, reality shatters into fragments, turning existence itself into a survival game called the 'Game of Faith.' Every seven days, humans get pulled into deadly scenarios with rules set by the gods — play along or die. That's already a lot, but the real story is Cheng Shi, who starts the whole thing trapped on a rooftop with no good options. What follows is a slow unraveling of a person who learns to lie, manipulate, and wear the mask of a priest — not out of villainy, but out of sheer necessity. The psychological weight is what separates this from a standard death-game setup. It's not just about surviving the next round; it's about what surviving costs you. If you've watched Mirai Nikki and liked how it twisted its characters under pressure, or if Darwin's Game scratched that 'ordinary person thrown into extraordinary violence' itch, this ONA sits comfortably in that space. The 'Game of Faith' mechanic adds something genuinely interesting — belief, deception, and divine manipulation all tangled together. Shengying Animation is adapting this from a web novel, so expect some intricate world-building underneath the action. It's dark, it's psychological, and Cheng Shi is the kind of protagonist who makes you uncomfortable in the right ways. Worth keeping an eye on when it drops in 2027.
