The first half feels like a reintroduction to the series. It's nice for new viewers or anyone who may have forgotten what happened, but since this was released in the same year as the original series, I don't think it was really necessary. The second half is ridiculously lewd and packed with fanservice, but honestly, it was still really entertaining.
