Dragon Prince Yuan Remaked
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Born into royalty, Zhou Yuan was robbed at birth — literally — his 'holy dragon's destiny' stolen by a rival nation, which is basically the spiritual equivalent of having your entire future ripped away before you could even cry about it. Left poisoned and weakened for over a decade, he's a royal heir who can barely function while his kingdom crumbles around him. The opening arc sends him to his dynasty's ancestral land, where he meets Yaoyao, a mysterious girl with way more going on than she lets on, and a strange dog-like creature that's clearly not just a pet. From there, it's a cultivation story about clawing your way back from rock bottom — reclaiming stolen power, protecting a fading dynasty, and navigating a world where Origin Qi determines who lives and who kneels. The Tianyuan Realm has a layered power system with real stakes baked into the world-building, drawing heavily from Chinese mythology and history. If you liked Battle Through the Heavens or Martial Universe, this is in that same lane — underdog protagonist, escalating power tiers, rival factions — but Yuan Zun leans harder into the political side with its kingdom-at-war setup. Fans of Tales of Demons and Gods will also feel at home here. Motion Magic is handling the animation for this ONA adaptation of the web novel, set for 2027. Worth keeping on your radar if donghua cultivation stories are your thing.
