Synopsis

Tanya von Degurechaff is a terrifying child colonel leading a military regiment through a brutal alternate-history war. Now picture her as a tiny round chibi figure throwing a fit because her new transfers can't get it together. That's Youjo Shenki 2, the ONA companion series running alongside Saga of Tanya the Evil II, and it commits completely to that bit. The shorts drop the grim wartime tension of the main series and replace it with compact comedy sketches built around the Salamander Battlegroup's very unglamorous day-to-day reality. These characters carry the weight of a serious war narrative in the parent series, so watching them get derailed by rookie problems in chibi form has a specific comedic texture that feels earned rather than random.
