Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master

Finally, the prince decides to choose his consort, and after a year, he visits the Cherry Blossom Palace. Faced with such an unexpected visit, the three candidates are unable to prepare themselves or maintain appearances, and many secrets begin to surface. In this episode, the masks and hidden intentions of each character are revealed, as well as their deepest motivations and desires for power. This is an excellent episode full of surprises and unexpected twists.

I’m lowkey shipping Yukiya and Koume, they’d look good together. Koume’s mother is just disgusting, can’t believe that. Ending felt acceptable overall. The politics were really good. Looking forward to next season.

Jeez it was good till a few episodes ago, now it’s something else entirely. Should’ve stayed focused on world building instead of all this random stuff. The logic feels off. Jihei is dumb and Yukiya acting like a brat is getting annoying.

This has turned into something completely different from how it started. Not sure I like this direction, it’s not holding my attention much now. The whole modern world connection feels far-fetched. This drug stuff is just messy.

Overall, judging by the 20 episodes, this anime is definitely worth watching, especially for those who enjoy political dramas like Game of Thrones. The story is solid, but it's a shame it had to end so abruptly. I can't wait for the second season.

I can’t believe they’re trying to use Yukiya as a hostage. This took a weird turn from political drama to something else with these strange species. Still interesting though, just didn’t expect it to go this way

This episode is getting more and more exciting, as the audience is led towards the conclusion, and Yukiya almost solves the mystery. Honestly, I'm really curious to see how this monkey attack incident will end.

Poor Koume, that backstory about her deadbeat dad was sad. Hamayu messing with Yukiya was funny though. Things are going in a really unexpected direction now, I’m not even sure where the story is heading anymore.

Finally, the anime's worldbuilding is expanded. We're shown what the world looks like outside of the Yatagarasu domain. All the clues and other information are revealed in this episode and connect to each other.

Yukiya is a bit edgy this episode, but it makes sense. The show has shifted from pure politics to something different now with all this chaos. Also are we finally seeing a love interest for Yukiya? Not bad.

Honestly, this episode was incredibly tense and mind-blowing. It made me curious about the expansion of the worldbuilding in this anime.

Wow these cool payoff scenes after so much plotting actually hit well. If Yukiya’s parents knew the prince’s identity they’d be shocked. This episode had a nice payoff vibe, not bad at all.

The plot of this episode is based on gathering clues about the monkeys' whereabouts. Perhaps because it's just a premise, it feels less suspenseful.

Plot after plot, just mind blowing. I can’t believe the one I thought arrogant turned out to be best girl, and the one I thought nicest turned out so repulsive. This show really keeps flipping everything.

Poor Yukiya, now I get why he’s so touchy and wants to go back to Taruhi. His past actually explains a lot. But Atsufusa’s loyalty is insane too. Things have gone completely crazy in just two episodes. I can say this as my favourite political anime

What the hell was that twist?? I genuinely didn’t see any of that coming. All this buildup finally paid off and it actually blew my mind. Rokon being good?? What is even happening. Okay yeah, I’m fully invested now.

The woman I thought was crazy actually had a sad story, now I feel both sorry and annoyed at her. The queen is definitely shady. I like Hamayu though. Something still doesn’t add up here, feels like there’s a bigger twist coming. Overall good political anime

Jeeez poor Samomo… that was rough. Who even killed her and why? Southern house better pay for this. Shiratama completely lost it, she feels unhinged now. And I still don’t fully get what’s going on with Yukiya. Poor guy kazumi got killed for no reason

Lots of talk bit slow paced for my taste. The tension is rising and the politics are starting to hit properly. You can feel everyone plotting something. I still don’t trust anyone, but the prince handling everything calmly is fun to watch.
