This episode also hits hard, and it ties up several loose ends for those who read the Tokyo Babylon manga. In the last episode, it seemed like we'd been spared the battle between Fuuma and Subaru, but no, we get to witness it in this episode. Another thing I didn't quite understand about X is that even though the dragons of Heaven and Earth are supposed to be forces of equal caliber, the Heaven dragons seem completely defenseless against the physical and psychological attacks of the Earth dragons. Is that really the case? Because this episode raises that question. Subaru has to face his unfinished business with the Sakurazukamori, and the conclusion is always painful for him. On the other hand, we have a big mystery surrounding Princess Hinoto; this time it's made clear that there's something very strange about her behavior. The great thing about X is that the battles aren't just a display of visuals and power; they're also a window into the characters' hearts, making it an emotional rollercoaster. The picture they show at the end is there in case we hadn't suffered enough already.
