Wana: Hakudaku Mamire no Houkago
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When her brother's death is ruled a suicide, Raika Misaki refuses to accept the official story. So she does something quietly reckless: she cuts her hair, binds herself down, and enrolls in his all-boys school under a false identity to find out what really happened to him. That's a compelling setup on its own, a grief-driven mystery wrapped in a gender-disguise premise that puts the protagonist in constant danger of exposure before she even gets close to the truth. The two-episode OVA from 2011 doesn't have a lot of runtime to work with, so it moves fast. Raika is navigating an unfamiliar environment, reading the social dynamics of a school full of people who may or may not have known her brother, and trying to hold herself together emotionally while maintaining a cover identity. The tension between her grief and her performance is the most interesting thread running through it. This is a hentai title, so go in with that context clear — the explicit content is part of the package, and the story exists within that framing. If you've watched things like Kimi ga Nozomu Eien or Yosuga no Sora and appreciated how that space can still carry genuine dramatic weight, this scratches a similar itch. The mystery element gives Raika actual motivation beyond the genre defaults, which makes her feel like a character rather than a placeholder. Short commitment, specific niche.
