This episode is the emotional peak of the series so far. Gascogne wasn't a main character, but she was the heart of the crew. She was the big sister who gave advice, who kept everyone grounded, who reminded them to smile even when things were hopeless and now she's gone. The fact that she sacrificed herself to save Barnette is poetic. She was always the one protecting everyone else and her final act was protecting one of her own. The crew's grief is real and the blame is real.
