The conclusion of the case was great and unpredictable. Though I kind of feel this arc was too disconnected from the main story since it looked like neither the protagonists nor the antagonists really gained anything from the village. I still enjoy the one-shot style approach of detective stories, just maybe not as a season finale. My favorite is Tsugaru’s fight in the cave.

Overall, this was a great anime. For a second season, I just hope we won’t have to wait 10 years for it, especially since there doesn’t seem to be enough source material yet.
