Twin Angels (1)
Oshimeter
Synopsis
The Amatsu sisters — Ai and Mai — carry a family legacy most people would envy: generations of demon hunters, supernatural powers, and a calling to protect humanity. The catch is that humanity keeps needing a lot of protecting, because the Demon King has shown up with an army of sex demons and a plan to enslave everyone. The sisters' immediate job is guarding Onimaro, a half-demon relative who could tip the balance either way depending on who gets to him first. That setup alone carries the show's first two episodes into genuinely tense territory before things get considerably darker and more explicit. This is a 1995 OVA from Arms, and it wears that era's aesthetic proudly — chunky linework, moody color palettes, and an unambiguous commitment to blending horror with adult content. It's not subtle about what it is. If you went into Twin Dolls and wanted something with a slightly more developed plot threading through the chaos, this scratches that itch. Fans of Burst Angel who wished that show leaned harder into its darker genre roots might also find something here worth revisiting. The horror elements are genuine rather than decorative — the demon designs lean unsettling, and the threat feels real enough to give the sisters' mission actual stakes. Four episodes keeps the pacing tight. It does exactly what it sets out to do within its genre, and the late-90s style gives it a specific texture that later productions in this space mostly lost.
