Toilet no Hanako-san vs Kukkyou Taimashi
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Evil spirits get defeated by an exorcist using his penis. That's the actual premise, and it doesn't try to be anything else. Masurao Kongou is a no-nonsense exorcist living in a Japan where urban legends have gone literal — Hanako-san, the ghost rumored to haunt school bathrooms, is real, dangerous, and actively hunting people who wander too close to her territory. Kongou's method of purification is, uh, distinctly biological, and the show leans into that without apology. The four-episode OVA pulls from genuinely well-known Japanese folklore — if you grew up hearing about Hanako-san or Mary-san, there's something weirdly funny about seeing those legends treated as legitimate threats requiring an exorcist with a very specific skill set. The horror framing is real enough that it creates an actual atmosphere rather than just being set dressing. If you've watched Taimanin Asagi or Bible Black and wanted something with a stronger supernatural hook baked into the actual story concept, this scratches that itch. It's not trying to be deep — it's a short, explicit supernatural romp built around a pun that somehow has its own internal logic. The Suzuki Mirano production keeps things visually competent throughout. Go in knowing exactly what it is and you'll get exactly what it promises.
