Those Science Freaks
Oshimeter
Synopsis
What happens when you promise to join two school clubs at the same time sounds manageable — unless the clubs in question are nothing like chess and photography. For Haruki Komaba, it would be a manageable problem if the clubs were, say, chess and photography. They are not. Airi Kuze runs the Technological Science Club and is half-cyborg. Ayana Hizuki runs the Chemical Science Club and is half-dog. Both of them have a thing for Haruki, and both want him exclusively in their club — so naturally, they start weaponizing their scientific expertise to win him over, with predictably chaotic and increasingly risqué results. This single-episode OVA from Hoods Entertainment leans hard into ecchi comedy, and the sci-fi framing gives it a slightly different flavor than your standard harem setup. The cyborg-versus-dog-girl rivalry is the engine here, and the show mostly just lets that absurd premise run wild. If you've watched something like Asa Made Jugyou Chu! or Rescue Me! and wanted a bit more genre weirdness baked in, this scratches a similar itch. It's not trying to be deep — it's a short, dumb, comedic romp with exaggerated character designs and a premise that exists purely to generate awkward situations for a flustered guy caught between two unhinged science nerds. At one episode, the commitment level is basically zero. Worth a watch if ecchi comedy with a sci-fi twist sounds like your kind of thing.
