📖 SYNOPSIS

"The World's Most Famous Tales" is an anime series that draws inspiration from a wide range of Western literary classics. The show features adaptations of stories from authors such as Charles Perrault, Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Carlo Collodi, and Lewis Carroll, among others. The series also includes tales from the "1001 Nights" collection, Howard Pyle, Jonathan Swift, Alexandre Dumas, E.T.A. Hoffman, L. Frank Baum, and Johanna Spyri. While the anime showcased a variety of these well-known narratives, only 21 stories were broadcast, with the final five episodes later released on VHS. The series aims to bring these timeless stories to a new audience through the medium of animation.
