The Venus Files
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Karen and Rio are detectives at the Goddess Investigation Agency — two women with a score to settle and a badge to back it up. When Rio's younger sister Aya turns up dead, connected to an underground network running sexual crimes across the city, the case stops being just a job. Rio and Karen go after the organization hard, tracing the specific narcotics the group uses as their calling card, while their young apprentice Masafumi tries to keep up with two detectives who have very personal reasons to see this through. This two-episode OVA is dark and doesn't shy away from that. It's based on a manga and carries a serious tone throughout — the kind of story where the trauma the characters carry is just as present as the criminals they're hunting. There's a detective procedural backbone here, but it's wrapped around something uglier and more emotionally raw than a standard crime story. If you've watched Kite or Mezzo Forte and liked how those handled action alongside genuinely grim subject matter, this sits in similar territory. It shares that same willingness to treat its dark themes with weight rather than glossing over them. Cool Devices fans who gravitate toward the more narrative-driven entries in that anthology might also find something here worth their time. Just go in knowing what it is. This is a hentai OVA with a real story underneath, not the other way around.
