The Sacred Blacksmith

Synopsis
Forty-four years ago, the surviving nations of the Valbanil War declared peace and forbade the use of the devastating demon contracts that ravaged the land. Now, inexperienced knight Cecily Cambell is eager to follow the example of her family and protect the people of the city using the sword she inherited from her father. Her first challenge arises in the market. A crazed swordsman wreaks havoc upon civilians and Cecily jumps into action to restore order. Overwhelmed, her weapon shatters, but a skilled stranger wielding a strange-looking sword intervenes. With the situation diffused, Cecily heads to a local blacksmith in an effort to restore her family heirloom. However, she finds out that her savior—the blacksmith Luke Ainsworth—may be the only person capable of such intricate repairs. Determined to have her treasured sword repaired, she seeks out the man who rescued her. However, a group of bandits suddenly attack a convoy headed for the city. The assailants look inhuman, and an ice demon appears. Luke suspects the use of a demon contract and calls upon a sacred power to defeat them. Meanwhile, a shadowy hooded figure lurks, watching from a distance. Who is this mysterious evildoer, and what does his appearance mean for the pair?

Satisfying but far from perfect. Lots of plot holes and inconsistent pacing. All of those are kind of overshadowed by the colorful and likable cast of characters, in my opinion. Lots of potential and could've been a lot better. Nice watch from start to finish, nonetheless.
Everything starts coming together as expected. Luke is really feeling all the pressure here. Cecily definitely steals the spotlight in this episode , in my opinion~~ plenty of badassery from her, and THAT sword-breaking scene gave me goosebumps .
Slow start, but a really good climax. Diving deep into some lore that will undoubtedly make this episode a good one among the rest. The pace, like I said before, is gradually increasing faster the more this episode runs. Solid overall.
I would say this felt similar to previous episodes. Not really a whole lot we can gain, besides, I guess, some flashbacks. More of a stale episode for me personally.. like, nothing really stands out. Not bad at all , but it just sort of does its job to move the plot, I guess.
I really don't like Charlotte. Most of the anime does not offer much in terms of picking up the pace for the plot to move forward. There are lots of unnecessary scenes, and some feel straight-up forced. At least it was entertaining enough in terms of variety, we get some lighthearted moments and quick fight scenes with choreography that is not too shabby.
I actually didn't expect to get another "breather" episode this quickly... we just had one a couple of episodes ago, but I am not complaining! The colorful cast of characters is fun to see, and their dynamic definitely works.
Clashing swords right from the get-go! What I've noticed is that the fights are definitely a step up from what I've seen before. Cecily gets into big trouble here, and she soon realizes that she has a long way to go still to become a great fighter.
Lisa is so adorable! I loved the break from intense set pieces in between every couple of episodes. I loved the ambiance and the whole peaceful vibe this episode brings! But to be fair, this does have its fair share of grimness to it, but it is necessary for the plot. Luke steals the spotlight for me, just watch it and you'll see what i mean.. 😭
What I like about this episode is that they did such a nice job humanizing the character, which acts as an "object." I hope it doesn't sound weird. I quickly gained a lot of liking towards Aria. I gotta say, she is one of the characters I look forward to the most in this series.
Pretty messed up episodes, not gonna lie. I'd be careful if I knew what to expect, some scenes kind of caught me off guard, but I adore the dark visuals, and I guess I can say the "body horror" aspect shown really works well with fantasy settings. So, all is not sunshine and rainbows and pretty faces, though we get to see Aria pretty ahh here, so I'm not complaining either~ :>
We are being fed with lore right from the first second, pretty cool to be honest, i loved the premise. The very insightful story definitely ties something that happened in the past will play a big role in future episodes. I loved the interaction between Luke and Cecily, i can tell that this will be one of those love-hate relationship, its kind of hilarious.. 😂
I love the whole blacksmith concept here and definately got me curious how the story will play out.. it definitely leans more into a unique approach for a fantasy-style setting where it's rather crowded with the same old stories over and over again, just with different characters and names. Animation is solid with light fanservice springkled here and there, visuals are pretty crisp. So far, so good~
hmm the last and final episode, there are lots of things that dissapoints me on this anime, battles are shortlived, the pace is all over the place, the plot has a lot of holes. the characters are shallow. But hey it was still good anime it could have been better. It was nice series ender.
ohhh the tension here on this episode is awesome. I mean the revelation and all makes the story more tasteful. I mean the writing becomes more like lore heavy and more focused on the characters and their background on these past few episode. Very nice episode. I recommend that you dont want to skip this one.
Yeah the backstories are really interesting, and this episode has it. The plot goes like it is puzzling it self together slowly. the animation is still the same. And yeah the background music fits the scenes good. Pace was kind of okay since there are a lot of yapping and lore said dialogues.
hmmm the flashback on Luke's side is great. I mean character lore are the one carrying this show, especially Luke's lore. Well yeah again, battles are short lived and pretty underwhelming. The animation stays pretty good though. The pace is alright for it has some lore said into it and yeah, the tension is alright too.
