Synopsis

"Huey" Anthony Disward and Dalian trek to the land owned by Sergeant Callavos, where it is rumored that a Phantom Book may be located. With the help of a local herbalist named Thalia, the two reach a remote village and begin to confirm relevant information to their investigation. Although it has been reported that Callavos perished alongside his family in a gruesome fire six months prior, his daughter Florence has been sighted in a nearby forest—and is suspected of causing the blaze. This OVA looked promising, but I was greatly disappointed. The art is beautiful; each landscape is like a painting, and the old European aesthetic is gorgeous. However, the anime characters feel out of place, not because of their original designs, but because of how they're adapted for animation. Furthermore, the story lacks any mystery, and it's even strange that the protagonist didn't suspect the obvious culprit. The main villain's motivations are incredibly silly, and their actions are quite questionable.

One more OVA episode for those who wanted more from Dantalian no Shoka. I think the best way to describe this episode is: it has the aroma of tea. From the autumn colors to the gloomy castles, it can feel a bit slow at times, but that is pretty common for the series.
