MIGHT BE SPOILERS FOR SOME. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. At its core, this series feels less like a complete story and more like the foundation of a much larger one. Rather than relying on constant action scenes or intense drama, it takes a gradual approach to Noel’s rise. I noticed that the pacing of the anime is inconsistent. Sometimes, it uses the episode as a buildup for a strong scene. But there are also times when a lot is happening in one episode that you wouldn’t know how to react. I feel like this stems more from the direction and episode composition than from the narrative itself. Visually, the series is highly impressive. Although there are occasional inconsistencies with character proportions, the overall direction remains strong. I personally like that they made use of symbolisms, like snakes for Noel’s cunning attitude. Character designs are also distinct and memorable. Shout out to Noel’s androgynous design and Finocchio’s cunty lashes xD From a writing perspective, the series focuses on progressing slowly. It took Noel’s party to rise in rank at around 2/3 of the series. Similarly, Noel’s ambitions are not resolved quickly, reinforcing the impression that the story is structured with continuation in mind. I’ve also noticed that the narrative places heavy emphasis on Noel and his ambitions (which is expected given that he is the MC), I believe this focus may limit opportunities to show a more varied group dynamics. If this continues into future seasons, there may be fewer chances to explore lighter or more comedic interactions within the party, since Noel is just gonna keep aura farming lol The series also shows inconsistency in its handling of tension. As I’ve mentioned in one of my episode reviews, some scenes could have been more intimidating had there been a good transition or at least better pacing. Nevertheless, the series remains engaging overall. The soundtrack complements the tone of the series effectively. I find the ending theme more memorable than the opening, though both are appropriate in context. Subtle audio design choices, such as the eerie, circus-like motifs associated with Finocchio, add additional atmosphere. Character-wise, I have a love-hate relationship with how compelling but morally ambiguous Noel can be. His actions fluctuate between strategic necessity and questionable ruthlessness, but you look forward to the next episodes because of it. Alma, on the other hand, is more ruthless than Noel if given the opportunity. Her dynamic with him felt more fleshed out compared to the other characters, mainly because she’s been a party member of Blue Beyond the longest. It was honestly a bit sad to see her get less screen time as the series shifted focus toward introducing new characters. As for Koga… MY POOR BABY KOGA DESERVES A BIG HUG. Finocchio might have been my favorite design, but Koga definitely had my heart with his backstory and earnest personality. I love his dynamics with Alma, it’s like Noel’s little harem. BUT I WANNA BRING THIS UP TOO, BECAUSE THERE ARE TIMES IN THE SERIES WHERE HE GETS MOGGED BY ALMA AND NOEL LOLOL (view pictures for reference) For Leon, as he’s introduced late in the series, there’s not much to say since we saw his dynamic with the group only at the last episode. He looks like the mediator between Koga and Alma. I look forward to seeing more of their dynamic as a possible comedic trio, while Noel is busy torturing whoever. Overall, the series is not without its inconsistencies, particularly in pacing and tension, but it remains engaging throughout. I hope it gets a new season so we can see more of the party/clan dynamics, ideally with more lighthearted moments, though I don’t mind the darker themes either.

There are definitely times when you’d question Noel’s sanity and morality lol. Tbh, I was hoping for more lighthearted screen time with the group and their dynamic. Still, I’m hoping for another season because clearly they still have a lot more to accomplish.

WHY’D THEY LEAVE IT ON A CLIFFHANGER 😭 Dare I say it’s the best episode! All that setup from the last episode to this one paid off with emotional drama and incredible strategy + action. Just when I thought I had Noel’s plan figured out, his venomous bite kept getting deeper.

The members of Blue Beyond are absolute menaces when they have a plan in mind, it’s scary. With 3 episodes left, I thought it’d be more climactic, like grinding to the top with more action, but this episode instead took the time to introduce a different party. I already feel sorry for what’s coming for them.

Hm… I’m not really liking the direction Noel seems to be heading in, but it does make you curious about what he meant and what his methods will be. No big action scenes in this episode, but they did give more lore and information about potential rivals. I like how humbling this episode is for them lol

I like the series’ pacing, but not so much of this episode. We got great animation and writing, showed us more of Noel’s role as a talker. Still, I feel like it could’ve been more intimidating and impactful, especially during his scene with Finocchio. Other than that, I love the energy of the new party (they all want Noel's attention lolol)

I love how Noel fought in a way a snake would be described: cunning and strategic. You’d expect a big action scene coming, but he’s a critical thinker than a fighter. That said, I think the pacing of this episode could’ve been a bit faster or at least had stronger impact in its key moments.

Keyword of the episode: PRIDE. Most of the characters display pride, whether it’d be in a destructive or healthy manner. A lot happens as a domino effect from previous episodes, which I believe is a nice structural touch. The series is not afraid to dive into darker themes and I’m here for it.

What a nice ending. It feels a little short, and it makes me want more because of how good the last episode was. The haunted house scene is funny, especially the way Noel flexes the book he has 🤣. The character development here is also good. All the characters Noel has met have developed in a good way. Well, it’s different for Noel’s enemies of course 🤣. Even though some episodes lacked a bit in how the story progression was delivered, the overall story is still good and worth watching.

Yep, the tension buildup from the last episode finally pays off. The fighting scene is absolutely great. There are only a few things I didn’t like. Rational thinking seems to make an exit whenever the MC starts talking, I guess 🤣. It feels like that part is getting removed. Overall, it’s better than the Galbino family arc before.

The episode is clearly a setup for something bigger. We get light humor, new characters, and more lore. Alma and Noel definitely leans toward the chaotic side (especially with how they ended the episode), so I hope the new party member/s will balance out their personalities.

The way Noel comes up with another plan for their next goal makes me even more interested in seeing how it plays out. I just hope it won't be delivered the same way as before, since that felt a bit off.

And now, we're back to the usual interesting episodes. The story moves forward here and has a clear goal in mind. The fight scenes are always interesting. I guess it's because I play strategy games, and this anime focuses more on strategic battles than the usual instinct-based fights. It feels like the MC is playing a strategy game while commanding his party. Glad it's back to its usual pace.

Hmmm, in my opinion, the story is good, but this episode feels weak and doesn't have many interesting scenes. It has some cringe moments where the characters keep talking about something that could have been solved in other ways. Also, the way those scenes were delivered feels off. There was too much aura farming, which I don't think this anime really needs. The plan the MC came up with was good, but the way it was presented wasn't very good.

The pacing was also good in this episode. The way they showed Koga's past was well done, and it's kind of sad seeing what he went through.

I’ve noticed while watching the episode, but there are really no coincidences. The animation makes it easy to pick up on a character’s intentions and the VAs bring so much life to every scene. I have mixed feelings about how ruthless the MCs can be, but they’re both so pretty huhuhu

Another great episode. A lot of interesting things happened here. This episode mainly focuses on recruiting members for the MC’s party. It has both funny and intense moments. This anime continues to impress me, and I keep getting more hooked with each episode. This is also the first time they separate, and the way Alma eats a lot of food because Noel left is hilarious 🤣.

Great anime. The tension is always there in every episode so far. Each episode progresses the story in a nice way. The hidden mysteries and unanswered questions gradually get explained with each episode, and it's like opening a box full of surprises. The funny side is always there as well. The duo is great right now, and the way they communicate with each other is pretty funny. Like how they joke with each other and how firm the MC is 🤣.

Another interesting episode. The way the MC handles everything makes him a good leader. Even though his class is non-combatant, when used well, it can improve the party by a lot. A lot happened in this episode. We got a new character introduced, along with plenty of information that will likely be important in later episodes.
