The Last Train To Gropesville
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A false groping accusation on a packed commuter train is all it takes to derail Koichi's life — arrested, humiliated, and thrown into the grinder of Japan's unforgiving justice system over something he didn't do. Two years later, he's back on that same train line, and he's not interested in apologies. This 2-episode OVA from Y.O.U.C leans hard into that setup, using Tokyo's notoriously crowded rail system as both setting and pressure cooker. The confined space, the anonymity of rush hour, the power dynamics between strangers pressed shoulder to shoulder — it all feeds into a story that's genuinely uncomfortable in ways that go beyond the obvious. The psychological weight of a destroyed reputation and what someone does with that kind of festering anger is the real engine here. It's dark, it doesn't flinch, and it's not trying to make you feel good about what you're watching. If you've seen Crimson Girls: Chikan Shihai or Chikan Densha: Binkan Yubi Saki Annai Nin and appreciated how that setting creates tension, this hits similar territory but with a revenge-driven protagonist who carries actual backstory. Like Chikan Densha: Gokuhi Sharyou, the train environment does a lot of narrative heavy lifting. Based on a visual novel, so the character motivations are spelled out with more depth than you'd expect for two episodes. Go in knowing the tone — this isn't light viewing.
