The Destiny Ruler is a 40-episode ONA with short episodes (around 7 minutes each), so it moves fast and doesn't waste your time. The hook is genuinely clever — instead of the usual "hidden genius awakens" setup, Li Wannian's path to power literally runs through dying strategically, which gives the action scenes real stakes and a dark comedic edge. Ruo Hong Culture handles the CG animation, and if you've seen their other work, you know they keep the production quality solid.

If you liked the power-scaling grind of The Galaxy Emperor or the underdog cultivator energy of Wo Qi Ku Le Baiwan Xiulianzhe, this scratches a similar itch. It's also got some of the same "weak-to-strong with a twist" appeal as Glorious Revenge of Ye Feng. Good pick if you want something action-packed that doesn't demand a huge time commitment per sitting.
