The Demon King's Daughter Is Too Kind!! 7/10

Okay so let me just say this right away I got exactly what I came for. No surprises, no disappointments, just a show that does its thing and does it well.

So the whole point is that the Demon King wants to conquer the world but his daughter Doux keeps ruining it by being too sweet and kind to literally everyone she meets demons, humans, angels, doesn't matter. Everyone just falls in love with her and the Demon King is just standing there like... this is not what I raised you for. His aide Jahi keeps cooking up these little plans to try and make Doux more evil and every single time Doux just. Solves it with kindness. Every time. You'd think it gets old. It doesn't.

Doux is honestly the whole show. She is so genuinely precious that you find yourself just smiling at the screen for no reason. Like she's not trying to be cute, she's not doing the whole anime uwu thing she's just a genuinely good little creature who sees the best in everyone and it feels real somehow? Her voice acting is adorable, her design is adorable, everything about her is adorable and the show knows this and just leans all the way in.

The comedy is on point most of the time too. Jahi sets up these situations specifically designed to force Doux into hurting someone or making a cruel choice and Doux always finds some third option that somehow makes everyone happy and Jahi is just standing there defeated again. It never gets boring because the situations keep changing even if the outcome is always the same vibe.

Now here's what I really respect about this show it doesn't try to be more than it is. There's no big complicated world building thrown at you. No episode where suddenly everyone has a tragic past and you need a tissue. No deep philosophical questions about good and evil even though honestly the setup could have gone there very easily. It just doesn't. It picks its lane wholesome comedy fantasy and it stays there the whole time.

This is your end of day show. The one you put on when your brain is tired and you just want something that feels nice. You make your chamomile tea, you get into bed, you watch Doux be sweet to everyone for twenty minutes, and you feel weirdly okay about the world again. That's the whole thing. That's all it's trying to do and it does it really well.

Is it going to change your life? No. Is it in my top ten? Also no. But did I finish it feeling warm and happy and like my evening was well spent? Absolutely yes. Sometimes that's genuinely enough, and we should stop pretending it isn't.

Cozy, funny, Doux is everything. 7/10.
