The Ambition of Oda Nobuna
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Yoshiharu Sagara is your average modern-day high school student with a love for video games, especially those based on historical events. One day, he finds himself inexplicably transported back in time to Japan’s turbulent Sengoku era—a period marked by chaos, civil war, and ambitious warlords seeking to unite the nation. But this isn’t the history he studied. Instead of the legendary male figures he learned about, Yoshiharu is shocked to discover that the most prominent warlords have all been reimagined as beautiful, capable women. Right after arriving, Yoshiharu is saved from certain death by none other than Hideyoshi Toyotomi—only to witness the hero perish in the process. Now history is already off course, and Yoshiharu is forced to take up the fallen warrior’s role. He soon meets Nobuna Oda, the female version of Oda Nobunaga, who dreams of unifying Japan under her rule. Despite her brash and prideful personality, Nobuna recognizes Yoshiharu’s intelligence and potential, nicknaming him “Saru” and recruiting him as a key strategist in her court. As he travels alongside Nobuna and her uniquely reimagined retainers—including fierce generals, clever tacticians, and elegant samurai women—Yoshiharu draws upon his knowledge of historical outcomes to change the tide of battles and influence political maneuvers. But altering the past comes with consequences, and as the lines between loyalty and love blur, Yoshiharu finds himself more deeply connected to this world than he ever imagined. His journey is not only about survival or returning home—it’s about helping Nobuna realize her vision for a new Japan, while trying not to lose himself in the process.
