Synopsis
Reiji Tokiwa gets shipped off to the rural village where he grew up after his parents move abroad for work. He barely has time to settle in before his childhood friends — the Amane sisters — are already back in his life. Midori, the older one, is quietly flustered around him in that way that makes it obvious she's been carrying feelings for years. Shiho, the younger sister, is the opposite: direct, a little unpredictable, and not shy about making her interest known. The whole thing kicks off with an awkward outdoor bath situation, which sets the tone pretty well. This is a 4-episode OVA from 2013 based on Yamatogawa's manga, and if you know that name, you already have a sense of what you're getting. The art faithfully carries over his clean, expressive style, and the countryside setting gives it a lazy, nostalgic warmth that separates it from the usual setting. There's no dramatic conflict here — it's lighthearted, a little comedic, and leans into the contrasting personalities of the two sisters to keep things interesting. If you've watched Ane Koi or Maid Ane and appreciated that blend of humor with genuinely appealing character dynamics, this sits comfortably in the same space. Fans of First Love who want something with a more relaxed, rural atmosphere will probably find it familiar. It's a short watch, and it knows exactly what it is.
