Taimanin Yukikaze Special
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Demons have overrun a near-future Japan, and the Taimanin — elite ninja operatives trained to fight supernatural threats — are the only thing standing between civilization and total chaos. Yukikaze is one of the best, a young ninja who channels lightning-based combat techniques that are genuinely impressive to watch in motion. Her close friend Rinko fights alongside her, sword in hand, and the two make a solid team. The mission they're handed in this special is personal: Yukikaze's mother has gone missing somewhere in Yomihara, a corrupt city that's basically a hub for everything dark and dangerous, and the only way in is undercover. Think ninja espionage wrapped in a supernatural underworld setting, with action sequences fluid enough to carry the tension. The animation does solid work translating the power systems from the original visual novel, and the soundtrack leans into the atmosphere rather than fighting it. Fair warning — this sits firmly in hentai territory, so go in with that expectation set. If you've already watched Taimanin Asagi or Hell Knight Ingrid and appreciated that blend of dark action and adult content, this fits the same space. Witch of Steel Annerose fans will also recognize the tone. At a single episode, it's essentially a side story that expands the world without demanding you've played the source game first, though some context from the main series helps.
