Taimanin Asagi Spinoff Story
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Demons and humans sharing the same streets — that's the fascinating premise Taimanin Asagi leans hard into. Igawa Asagi is a Taimanin, essentially a ninja trained specifically to deal with demonic threats, and she's good at her job. When suspicious activity surfaces on an abandoned island in Tokyo Bay called Tokyo Kingdom, she heads in with her sister Sakura and fellow Taimanin Murasaki to investigate. What follows is a trap, carefully laid by Oboro, someone with a serious personal grudge against Asagi. The three of them walk straight into it. This is a one-episode OVA from 2020, adapted from a visual novel, so it moves quickly and doesn't hold back on its darker content. The urban fantasy backdrop gives it texture — there's genuine world-building underneath the mature themes, with a power structure involving demons, rogue factions, and ninja politics that fans of the source material will already know. The tone is heavy and psychological, not just action-forward. If you've watched something like Bible Black or La Blue Girl and appreciated how those titles blend supernatural conflict with adult content, this sits in familiar territory. Fans of Kite who don't mind intense, uncompromising content in a stylized near-future setting will also find something here. It's not trying to be subtle about what it is, but the character dynamics and the betrayal-driven setup give it more backbone than you might expect from a single episode.
