Two demon-slaying ninjas of the highest order, Asagi and Sakura handle threats that regular law enforcement won't touch. One year after their last major mission, they're sent to Tokyo Kingdom, a man-made island in Tokyo Bay that was supposed to become a gleaming second city center. Instead, it turned into a lawless stretch of concrete where criminals and demons operate freely, and three fellow Taimanin operatives have gone missing inside it. That's the setup, and it doesn't let up from there. The island itself feels like a character — isolated, decaying, and genuinely dangerous in a way that gives the whole thing a noir-adjacent atmosphere. The sisters' dynamic is one of the stronger elements here; there's real history between them that shapes how they move through the mission. If you've already watched the original Taimanin Asagi or Taimanin Yukikaze, this fits comfortably in that same space — supernatural ninja action with a dark edge and mature content. Fans of Kuroinu will also recognize the general territory. It's a two-episode OVA adapted from a visual novel by T-Rex, so it moves quickly and assumes you're already comfortable with the tone. The animation holds up well, and the character designs are detailed. Just go in knowing exactly what kind of show this is — it's not trying to be anything other than what it is, and within that lane, it does its job.
