Suketto Sanjou!! The Animation
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Don't let the baseball premise fool you — it's a simple setup, a team joined to boost morale, and yes, it goes exactly where you think it does. Sandy, the blonde, and Wendy, her dark-skinned counterpart, show up with a mission tied to an old rivalry between teams, and the sports backdrop gives the whole thing a slightly absurd competitive framing that keeps it from feeling completely generic. The contrasting character designs between the two leads are clearly intentional and do a lot of heavy lifting in terms of visual appeal. It's a two-episode OVA from 2020, adapted from a manga, so there's no bloat — it gets in, does its thing, and wraps up cleanly. The baseball angle is mostly window dressing, but it gives the story a bit of structure that fans of titles like Baku Ane: Otōto Shibocchau zo! The Animation or Sei Yariman Gakuen Enkō Nikki The Animation will recognize — slice-of-life framing used as scaffolding for adult content. If you liked Koikishi Purely☆Kiss The Animation and appreciated when these productions put some effort into character contrast and setup, this scratches a similar itch. It's lighthearted in tone, not trying to be anything heavy, and at two episodes it's a low-commitment watch. Short, straightforward, and does what it sets out to do without overcomplicating things.
