Kanon Town is a place where music thrives, and childhood friends Hibiki Houjou and Kanade Minamino grew up together. However, their relationship has soured over time. Their lives change when the fairy Hummy from Major Land appears, revealing a looming threat. The evil king Mephisto of Minor Land plans to twist the legendary Melody of Happiness into a Melody of Misfortune. To combat this, Hibiki and Kanade are granted the power to transform into Pretty Cure. They must now learn to cooperate and overcome their personal issues. Their mission is to gather the scattered notes of the Melody of Happiness, which will allow them to restore the score and prevent Mephisto's sinister plan from succeeding. The series focuses on their journey of teamwork and the power of music.
